Two days ago we reported that former Eagles head coach Andy Reid was all but certain to land the Cardinals Job. We like everyone else even went as far as to speculate on what he would do with Kevin Kolb.
Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs are pulling a Lee Corso, and say not so fast my friends. PFT is reporting that the Chiefs look like a more likely destination than Arizona at this point.
As we reported yesterday Reid indeed interviewed with the Chiefs, and reports are that the interview process lasted 10 plus hours, and Reid actually cancelled a trip to Arizona scheduled for today, to continue that process.
PFT is reporting via Chris Mortensen that the events of the last 24 hours suggest Reid is now close to a deal with the Chiefs.
Mortensen: “The Chiefs were trying to close a deal with Andy Reid,” Mortensen said. “At this point I’m going to be surprised if Andy Reid is not the Chiefs’ coach. Now, I’ve been surprised before, but there’s a lot of activity there. Some would say, ‘Why Kansas City over Arizona?’ One thing is, in Kansas City, Clark Hunt, the owner of the Chiefs, he’ll let Andy Reid build this thing the way he wants to build it. And if you know Andy, he wants to be able to basically pick the entire organization, set up his personnel. . . . The Chiefs are willing, and Clark Hunt is willing to do that.”
Myself I think Reid can fit anywhere, so Kansas City looks like a really good fit for Reid with less expectations and the #1 overall pick to work with also.
Again this is all reports, speculation and rumors. Information, and leads could change by the hour, but we are here to keep you updated on everything sports.
