Jeremey Lin has been a Houston Rocket for seven months and in the NBA for the better part of two and a half years. Lin who was undrafted and had to work his way into the position he’s in, still struggles to understand the business part of the game.
Last night his Houston Rockets took part in two different trades, shipping out Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich, Toney Douglas and Marcus Morris, Lin.
Lin for his part says he was crushed by it, and according to Larry Brown Sports, “didn’t want to play last night after those roster moves.”
“That was just pretty much the worst thing,” he told reporters after Wednesday night’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, via CSNHouston.com. “It sucks because we’re a close-knit team and we actually really, really care about everybody that got shipped off and it was just really emotional for me.
“To be honest, I was like ‘I don’t even want to play. I don’t even want to play tonight.’ It was really emotional. I wish them the best. It just sucks to see them go and I guess that’s a part of the business but that’s a tough part for me.”
Lin must have eventually got it together, because he went out and scored 29 points in a big win over the Thunder. No one likes to see their teammates go, but that’s the bad part of such a profitable business.
