Many people have been calling for Jason Garrett to be fired as the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach after only a 21-19 total record so far through his tenure. Owner Jerry Jones has always been quick to give Garrett his full support despite the almost .500 record.
In an interview with the Cowboys website, Jones once again reiterated that Jason Garrett is his guy.
Per Dallas Morning News: “I saw things in our head coach that really give me a lot of promise for not only 2013 but for years to come,” Jones said. “I’m excited about Jason Garrett.”
The Cowboys made changes along their coaching staff this off-season, and Jones made it clear that Garrett made the final call on who got hired.
“He did the evaluations,” Jones said. “He basically said, ‘Jerry here’s who I want to get.’”
Good to see Jerry still supporting his head coach, but you have to wonder.
Will another 8-8 season be acceptable in Big D? I would have to think not.
