So this crazy buzzer-beating shot happened at a Section 1 Class AA Championship game between Mt. Vernon and New Rochelle in New York. The way it happened though was almost identical to this Michael Ruffin gaffe, which oddly enough almost happened 6 years ago to this day.
So the way it happened was that Mt. Vernon was up on New Rochelle 60-58 with 2.9 seconds remaining with New Rochelle in the position of having to inbound the ball from under their own basket. Their only option was to attempt the desperate heave and this is what happened.
