San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree finally displayed the potential and productivity that made him the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Crabtree had his best season as a pro, catching 85 balls for 1,105 yards and 9 touchdowns.  Crabtree attributes that success to the trust Colin Kaepernick had in him according to CSN Bay Area.

As Crabtree told NFL Network on Tuesday, “I think he trust me more than Alex did.”

“I think he trusted me more. Playing wide receiver, you need a quarterback who trusts you. I feel like he trusted me.”

Crabtree was then asked if that meant he and Alex Smith had chemistry issues.

“I wouldn’t say that,” Crabtree said. “I don’t want a controversy.”

I think what Crabtree was really trying to say is that Kaepernick trust what he sees and trust his instinct.  The one thing that made Alex Smith good, lack of mistakes and interceptions, also prevented Smith from making big plays.
