MLB Investigating Robinson Cano For Ties To Miami Biogenesis Clinic

Yankees vs. Mariners

Brace yourself Yankees and baseball fans alike. One of the game’s young premier hitters, Robinson Cano is the latest name that’s being tied to the infamous Miami Biogenesis clinic.

CBSlocal.com is reporting that the slugger is being linked to the same clinic which was tied back to other players, including teammate Alex Rodgriguez.

Cano’s foundation spokeswoman Sonia Cruz was allegedly listed as a client of the clinic last summer. Cruz reportedly owed the anti-aging clinic $300 in July and in August, Cruz issued the following statement:

“I met with a nurse who works for the clinic, but I met her outside the clinic just to talk to her about a diet program they have for women,…I never went through with it once she explained what it was. I thought it was just a diet/nutritional thing, but it was diet, nutrition, pills and stuff.”

Cano himself addressed reporters on Monday brushing off any allegations, the two-time gold glove winner stated:

“It doesn’t have anything to do with me,…I know what I’m doing and I know myself. I’m going to play my game. I didn’t see what the story said but I have no comment.”

Bad timing for Cano who is nearing free-agency after 2013 and is poised to sign a mega deal in the off season.

Unfortunately these stories are becoming far too commonplace in baseball, and one of the game’s newest super star’s is the latest person in question. Slowly but surely fan’s trust in the game is eroding, and it seems like the clock is just ticking until the next house hold name gets busted.
