Ohio State sharp shooting forward Deshaun Thomas will forgo his final year of eligibility, and enter the 2013 NBA Draft according to Land Grant Holy Land.
Thomas finished the year as a third-team AP All-American and was named to the Wooden All-American team. Thomas was the Big Ten’s regular season leading scorer and made the announcement on Friday.
“My three years at Ohio State have been the best years of my life,” Thomas said through a release. “I have grown tremendously as an individual and as a basketball player. I intend to return to finish my degree, but I believe that now is the best opportunity to pursue my dream and begin my career as a professional basketball player. I will always be a Buckeye and am blessed to be a part of the Ohio State University family.”
Thomas will leave Columbus as Ohio State’s 9th all time leading scorer with over 1600 points. Most draft pundits see Thomas as a second round guy who can work his way into the first round.
