Robert Griffin III is expected to get clearance from his doctors to begin on-field running next week.
RGIII’s father, via the Washington Post, gave some insight into his son’s rehabilitation process .
“He’s been running in the pool, and some on the treadmill,” he told The Post. “But they’re just about ready to take it out on the field.”
Griffin as been vocal about his goal of returning to the field for the start of the 2013 season after tearing his ACL, lateral collateral ligament, and meniscus in his right knee during last season’s playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he has also stated that he will not risk long-term injury trying to return too soon.
This is good news coming out of Washington for Redskins fans. RGIII has stated that his rehabilitation was ahead of schedule and his doctor described him as “superhuman,” now we have a little more confirmation of his progress.
