Ben Roethlisberger had been lobbying coach Mike Tomlin to match the one-year, $2.5 million offer sheet the New England Patriots gave wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, according to sources.
Sanders can still leave at the end of the season as he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent.
