It seems like Tyrann Mathieu has every intention of making it difficult for an NFL team to make a commitment to him.
The former LSU defensive back’s dalliances with drugs in the past is well documented and has caused teams to shy away from the troubled player, although, he is considered by some to be the best at his position in this year’s NFL Draft.
According to a report via Josh Katzowitz of CBS Sports, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports told the Dan Patrick radio show that Honey Badger missed meetings with the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans last week. There are reports that he was sick but if you’re already walking on thin ice like Mathieu is, the only way you should miss that meeting is if there’s a death in the family.
You can be certain that this news has come to the attention of every organization and will go down as another reason as to why teams won’t want to take the plunge and risk an early pick on Mathieu.
Mathieu is choosing the wrong week to attract negative attention to himself, there’s a possibility that a team will take a chance on him in the second or third rounds today, but by no means is that a certainty.
