It’s been over a month since the new baseball season started, and we’ve yet to see a player climb a fence to rob a hitter of a home run. Until now that is.
The play happened in the Pacific Coast League (minor leagues plays count too) where the New York Mets Triple-A affiliate the Las Vegas 51s were facing the Sacramento River Cats. 51s player Kirk Nieuwenhuis, climbed the outfield fence, almost toppling over it to rob a River Cats hitter of what looked like a sure home run.
