Spike Lee is too old for this.
I know he is a superfan (unofficial mascot) for the Knicks, but he was really going to try to sit behind the Pacers bench to heckle them?
Spike Lee reportedly offered $40K for four tickets next to Pacers bench for tonight’s game, but seat owner Stewart Reed turned him down

Bleacher Report has additional details on the failed transaction. I don’t think the it would have helped the Knicks, considering how they were manhandled in Game 3 by the Pacers. It is Spike’s money, he can do whatever he wants with it, just seems like his obsession is a bit out of control.
Fan is short for Fanatic though.
*UPDATE*
Spike has denied this happened.
Whoever This Guy Stewart Reed Is,I Wish He Would Stop Lying,I Did Not Offer Him $40,000 For Tickets To Knicks-Pacers Last Night.NOT TRUE.LIE
