Former NBA guard Jason Kidd’s post playing career has developed quickly and rapidly. Kidd announced his retirement a week ago Monday.
Then this past Sunday, news of Kidd wanting to coach the Brooklyn Nets surfaced out of the blue.
Now according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, former 76ers and current Nets GM Billy King is set to name Kidd the team’s head coach any day now.
The Inquirer is reporting that the final details of the contract are being worked out according to sources, but it will be a three-year deal when things are wrapped up.
The 40-year-old Kidd played seven seasons for the Nets when they were still located in New Jersey.
This whole situation practically evolved over a four-day period. It is my opinion that these talks or plans have been in the works for sometime now.
Either that or the Nets really just want some star power in their head coach.
