Sadly, it seemed like it was just a matter of time.

UPDATE

Struggling Angels first baseman, Albert Pujols was re-evaluated in California, where an MRI revealed a partial tear of his plantar fascia. According to Tim Brown of Yahoo, Pujols is like likely done for the season with surgery being a possibility since it wasn’t a complete tear.

The Angels were forced to put Albert Pujols on the DL Sunday, after he re-injured his troublesome left foot during Friday’s loss to the Oakland A’s. He’s headed back to California to be re-evaluated.

Pujols has been dealing with a very nasty bout of plantar fasciitis for the bulk of his career, but this year it’s been especially debilitating  and he’s expected to undergo off-season surgery for it.

Mark Trumbo is likely to replace Pujols at 1st. There’s no timetable yet on how long Pujols will be out, but Angels fans should brace themselves for the worse.

Reminder, 8 years left on the contract…God’s speed.
