Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and NFL analyst is at again. Another quarterback besides himself got paid yesterday, and again McNabb ripped that quarterback.
This time fresh off of seeing the Lions give Mathew Stafford a new deal that will pay him $41 million in guaranteed money, McNabb took to NFL Network to question if Stafford deserved the money, and then asked “what has Stafford done.”
“When you look at just the numbers overall, you have to think about 12,000 yards and being the youngest quarterback to reach this feat and also the things he’s been able to accomplish, you know you begin to question this…. Is he worth top 5 money? I would have to say no. And I say that because it’s about wins and losses….. What has he really done for the Detroit Lions? Nothing.”
Donovan needs to let it go at this point. Quarterbacks are paid what they are worth, and what the market determines. Mathew Stafford may not be elite in Donovan’s eyes, but he’s quickly becoming the best passer the Lions have ever had, and that means something to Detroit.
