According to a report courtesy Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Indiana Pacers are in close to acquiring some much needed offensive fire power in the Phoenix Suns’ Luis Scola.
The Pacers and Suns were finalizing the players and possible picks involved in the deal on Friday night, and front-office sources expected an agreement to be finalized soon.
While the deal was still being finalized overnight, the Pacers will minimally send the Suns a future first-round draft pick, as well as possible additional draft and cash considerations to go along with guard Gerald Green, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Scola played every game for the Suns last season and averaged 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists. While the Pacers have cemented themselves as one of the top teams in the NBA, they still fall short when it comes to matching the offensive output of teams like the Miami Heat.
And with the return next season of former All-Star Danny Granger, the Pacers should be able to narrow that gap significantly.
