Jeanie Buss must not like her brother too much. She’s clearly the rogue Buss family member. First we heard her say that there’s a good chance that Phil Jackson could return to the Lakers. Now Fan Nation is reporting that Jeanie is speaking on the Dwight Howard disaster. Jeanie is basically saying that Dwight would have been more inclined to stay with the Lakers had her father, the late great Dr. Jerry Buss, been the one pulling the strings.
Jeanie commented saying this:
“They would’ve probably had a better relationship if my dad hadn’t been sick. When it came time to try to convince Dwight to stay, we lost the best closer in the business in Dr. Buss. Putting up the billboard maybe wasn’t the right thing. But we maybe have to learn to do things differently because Dr. Buss isn’t here anymore.”
Since Jim Buss has taken the helm of the Lakers organization, it hasn’t been pretty, but one thing is certain. If Jerry Buss was alive, I highly doubt Phil would ever return as the Lakers head coach. We can only speculate on Dwight staying with the Lakers.
