The SEC is releasing their conference schedule later today but there has been a big leak. Texas A&M and LSU will meet on the field next Thanksgiving in College Station. Texas A&M wanted their home game in the series to be on Thanksgiving, I assume because they are up and coming and would like an even bigger chance to have spotlight on the program.
Scheduling has been a touchy subject for LSU and their officials have lobbied strongly the past two years to eliminate permanent opponents, also sometimes called crossover opponents, in favor of rotating everyone from the other division. The SEC is considering that option among a number of eight- and nine-game schedules.
College football fans are the big winners here and I look forward to this game next year while I eat a big plate of ham and mac&cheese.
