Since not everyone is up on these college traditions , the “12th man” is a tribute to the fans of the Texas A&M Aggies, who do their best to give the program support on/off the field and provide the team the extra boost needed for victory. Last July, it was announced that the school would auction off the license plate which I’m sure is highly coveted in that area.
Well we know someone wanted it badly because it went for $115,000 in auction:
The proceeds are supposed to be going to both Texas A&M and the General Revenue Fund of Texas. Remember though, it’s fine for the school to make this much money off a license plate, but Johnny Manziel can’t get a penny for signing his name.
