Philadelphia has made it clear this off-season they’re building for the future. New general manager Sam Hinkie traded all-star point guard Jrue Holliday to New Orleans for Nerlens Noel. That move alone showed the direction Hinkie is taking with this young Sixers squad.
Philly is relying on building through the draft and player development. With that being said, the 2014 draft is expected to be one of the best ever headlined by Andrew Wiggins. Many people expect Philly to take part in the “winless for Wiggins” movement.
Commissioner David Stern doesn’t want to hear anything about tanking.
“That is so… small,” said Stern. “I hope they have a great season and don’t have the chance for the No. 1 pick.”
If Philadelphia makes the playoffs, just know the fix was in.
