The NBA announced it’s 5-game suspension for J.R. Smith nearly a month ago after violating the leagues substance abuse policy. In more “blunt” language, the reigning sixth man of the year tested positive for weed.
During Knicks media day, Smith expressed his disappointment:
JR Smith says he's 'disappointed' in his 5-game suspension "because I let my teammates and my coaches down… I let Mr. Dolan down." #Knicks

The suspension won’t go into affect until Smith is cleared to play from his knee injury.
