LeBron James Wants To Bring A MLS Franchise To Miami

LeBron James and David Beckham partnership.

Miami currently has four professional sports teams, which include the Florida Panthers, Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat.

The only team that consistently draws good attendance is the Miami Heat, mainly because of a guy named LeBron James. LeBron and the great David Beckham want to add a fifth pro team to the city of Miami.

“There’s some interest on both sides,” James said. “David has become a good friend of mine over the last few years. I think it would be great for this city to have a football club for sure. There’s interest on both sides, but it’s preliminary talks.”

Although Miami has four pro teams, nobody would be willing to call it a sports town. Majority of the people attending the games are just there to be scene. However, LeBron James is confident the city would support a soccer franchise.

“I think it could be huge,” James said. “You never know. I think this is a great town for soccer. There’s a lot of soccer players, there’s great youth soccer players here and people love the city as well. That definitely would help.”
