I know my readers didn’t think the NFL was any different than college football or basketball when it came to how to discipline a rule breaker on your team.
As we reported on Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested over the weekend.
After initially being pulled over for speeding, Bowe was found with 10 grams of marijuana on him as well.
The 9-0 Chiefs are playing their game of the century on Sunday when they travel to Mile High to face the 8-1 Denver Broncos.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid hasn’t addressed the matter with his team yet, but according to ESPN.com, Bowe is expected to start in the titanic matchup.
“He’s playing,” a source said.
For those wondering why Bowe hasn’t been disciplined yet, the league will review Bowe for potential discipline once the case is adjudicated.
The Chiefs cannot discipline Bowe under terms of the collective bargaining agreement for an apparent violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.
That falls under the NFL’s umbrella.
