Derrick Rose could miss a significant amount of time with his latest knee injury.
The loss of Rose for the Bulls, could allow the Philadelphia 76ers to continue to purge their current roster for draft picks and salary cap fluidity.
Elliot Shore-Parks of NJ.com believes now would be perfect time for the Bulls to try and pry the Chicago native, Turner, away from Philadelphia.
Turner, a Chicago native, would be an ideal fit for the Bulls to replace Rose. He isn’t the player that Rose is, but he has shown over his career that he is best with the ball in his hands. With Rose now gone, there are plenty of touches open in Chicago.
Turner is a free agent after this season, meaning the Bulls could move on at the end of the season when Rose returns. It’s going to be hard for the Bulls to find a player that could come in this season to help them, but not be a burden next season with Rose in the lineup. Turner is perhaps the best band-aid Chicago could ask for right now that helps them both this season and doesn’t hurt their long term plans.
Turner has received a ton of criticism over the past few seasons, but has responded to being the man with career averages of 21.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists on the season.
I’m not necessarily sure the addition of Evan Turner would put the Bulls any closer to a championship than they are right now.
Turner isn’t going to help get the Bulls past the Pacers or Heat, and there’s no guarantee that he would respond to that type of pressure.
Turner will be a free agent at the end of this season.
