Terrelle Pryor’s Injury & Performance Concerns Raiders

It was an interesting experiment, but perhaps it’s time for it to be over?

The Oakland Raiders have had Terrelle Pryor started at quarterback this season, in a move that few saw coming after they signed Matt Flynn in the off-season. But, given Pryor’s ability to make plays with his legs and decent arm, the coaching staff obviously thought Terrelle gave them the best chance to win.

From what I’ve seen when I watched him personally, Pryor lacks the necessary pocket skills to be a competent NFL quarterback. Sure, he’s electric. But I haven’t had a moment where I watched him go through his progressions, look off safeties, or numerous other key components of being a successful pocket passer. After Sunday’s lost to the Giants, it appears a knee injury is also hampering the young quarterback. Dennis Allen spoke on the situation Per NFL.com.

“It wasn’t something that we thought was going to be a big factor going into the game. But, obviously, it was a factor,” Allen told reporters, per the Bay Area News Group.

In a draft class loaded with talent at the quarterback position, don’t be shocked if the Raiders make a move to grab one of the young incoming signal callers as their new franchise quarterback.
