The NBA commissioner calls the 76ers current 21 game losing streak a rebuilding process, while pundits and NBA draft experts classify what the team is doing as a full on tank job.
Either way, there’s no actually guarantee that the Bucks or the 76ers will land the No.1 pick in June’s draft. If the 76ers happen to get the last lottery ball selected, ESPN Insider Chad Ford says the team already has a player at the top of their draft board.
In the midst of a 20-game losing streak, the Sixers have had Wiggins atop their board all year and believe he’d be the perfect complement to Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel and Thaddeus Young. The athleticism on that team would be crazy.
Parker is another option, as is Kentucky’s Julius Randle (the Sixers could use someone who can draw a double-team down low). They also likely will have the Pelicans’ pick (it’s top-5 protected) and look to add a big or shooter to the team.
I agree with Ford completely.
Wiggins fits with MCW, Noel and Thaddeus Young. But so can Jabari and Julius Randle as well.
The 76ers first pick will go a long way in determining who they use with the lottery pick they’ll receive from the Pelicans in the Jrue Holiday trade.
