I wouldn’t be mad at this move right here.
According to USA TODAY Sports, Derek Fisher could join the New York Knicks front office. Phil Jackson obviously will spend the next few months piecing together a staff, and reports say one name to keep an eye on is his former point guard.
“Eventually, he’ll (Phil Jackson) bring in some of his own people,” NBA reporter Sam Amick said. “One name you should not be surprised to hear eventually is Derek Fisher. He won five championships with Phil with the Lakers. He has a lot of respect from the Zen Master. Phil referred to Derek as a natural leader with exceptional emotional intelligence and finely tuned management skills. Derek has already announced his retirement at the end of this season. We shall see if these two guys get back together.”
Fisher played nine seasons under Jackson with seven NBA Finals appearances.
