It seems that Ron Rivera’s attempt at being politically correct may have just caused himself and the Panthers organization some embarrassment.
Rivera went on record to USA Today about an hour ago, and said that the Panthers would have interest in DeSean Jackson.
According to Pro Football Talk, Panthers officials have declared that the team has no interest in Jackson.

Alex Marvez echoed those sentiments via his sources.
Echoing @josephperson: @Panthers will not be signing @DeseanJackson10. Decided to pass even before gang-ties story surfaced

According to Marvez, the Panthers had no interest in Jackson before the gang affiliation reports.
Reports say that Rivera, who like Jackson played college football at Cal, was either “trying to help a fellow Golden Bear or, at a minimum, to not hurt him.”
