According to a report from Yahoo Sports, Houston Rockets point guard Patrick Beverly has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee. Sources said:
“Beverley, 25, will get a second opinion on the injury soon, and then it’ll be determined whether there’s possibly a rehabilitation process that could expedite his return before the end of the NBA playoffs.”
The loss of Beverly could be a huge problem for the Rockets going into the playoffs, as backup guard Jeremy Lin is nowhere near the athlete or defender he is.
Beverly is frequently tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best ball handlers and his loss could mean the talented young guards in the west get that much more space to work with against the Rockets.
One person in particular who won’t be shedding a tear for Beverly is Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook. If you remember; Patrick Beverly was responsible for Westbrook missing the Thunder’s playoff run last year by injuring HIS knee.
