Jeremy Maclin Thinks Eagles ‘Will Be Fine’ Without Desean Jackson

Now that the Desean Jackson has signed with the Washington Redskins, both he and the Philadelphia Eagles can move on from their relationship.

That doesn’t mean that people will stop asking about the sour way the team and player parted though. Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin was asked recently if the Eagles would be able to make up for the loss of Jackson, and the fifth year receiver had some confident words on the situation.

“I think we’ll be fine, man. Obviously DeSean is one of the better playmakers in this league but we’re moving forward and I think we’ll be just fine,” said Maclin.

“I have faith in the offense and I have faith in the guys that we have in the locker room and on the football field. Chip said it himself: the offense is not built around one guy. We have multiple guys that go out there and make plays, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do this year.”

Maclin does make a good point. It takes an entire team to help Philly’s offense hum, not just one receiver. That being said, Maclin and Riley Cooper will need to step up big time to fill the void left by Jackson.

We won’t have to wait too long to see if the Eagles receivers can replace Jackson’s production, as Desean and the Redskins face Maclin and the Eagles in Week 3 of the upcoming NFL season.
