Seems like the Tampa Rays are going to have to overcome some early-season adversity as the Associated Press is reporting that starter Alex Cobb is facing some time on the sidelines.
The Tampa Bay Rays put right-hander Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained oblique in his left side, the second starter they’ve lost to injury in a week.
The Rays put lefty Matt Moore on the disabled list earlier this week with an elbow injury so now they’re missing their No. 2 and 3 starters early in the season in a very competitive division. Left-handed pitcher Jeff Beliveau was called up to take the place of Cobb.
