Report: MSU’s Gary Harris To Enter NBA Draft

Gary Harris NBA

Michigan State sophomore Gary Harris was the Spartans leading scorer this season and often times the best player on the floor, so it’s no surprise that CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish is reporting that he’ll enter this year’s NBA Draft.

Michigan State sophomore Gary Harris will, barring a surprising change of plans, eventually announce that he’s entering the 2014 NBA Draft, sources told CBSSports.com on Tuesday.

“He’s going to go,” one source said. “And he probably should.”

Head coach Tom Izzo, who had a meeting with his players yesterday after their Elite 8 defeat, says that if research showed Harris is projected as a top guard NBA prospect he’d likely advise him to turn pro.

Losing Harris along with senior starters Adreian Payne and Keith Appling would definitely serve to be difficult for Izzo, but it’s good to know that he will advise his players to do what’s best for them and not his basketball program.
