Sorry Dallas Cowboys fans, but you may not have seen the last of Miles Austin.
Coach head coach Jason Garrett said this week that the team is “absolutely” open to re-signing Austin, who was released by the team in March.
“We love Miles Austin, we really do,” Garrett said, according to the Cowboys’ official website. “Obviously, drafting Devin Street (Saturday), we addressed the receiver position a little bit. But Miles has been a really good player for us.”
Garrett indicated that economics played a bigger role in Austin’s release, and not his production.
“The economics of his situation really factored into the decision we made with him, coupled with his injuries,” Garrett said. “We’ll look at the landscape when we get done. Miles is a guy that we have great respect for as a person and as a player.”
