Dez Bryant has put up some ridiculous numbers for the Cowboys over the past two seasons, and some in the organization believe he’s due a huge raise.

Bryant told ESPN Dallas that he hopes to sign a long-term contract extension with the Cowboys before the season begins and that he truly deserves it.

“Yeah, I deserve it,” Bryant told ESPNDallas.com. “I deserve it. I feel like I do. I put the work in, but I let that kind of stuff take care of itself. It is what it is. I let my agent talk about it and give me some feedback.”

Bryant admitted that he and his agent have had preliminary talks with the Cowboys about a new deal.  Bryant is due to make $1.78 million in salary and a $250,000 workout bonus this year, the final season of his rookie contract.

The mercurial wide receiver says he wants to spend his entire career with the Cowboys, and would even re-sign for a discount if need be.

“I’m loyal to the squad,” Bryant said. “I’ve always been. Me and my agent are going to talk about [a hometown discount]. We’ll talk about it. You know, this is big. This is life changing. Like I said, I’ve done everything asked of me, and we’ll see what happens.”
