The Lakers are said to be going after a big name to fill the spot vacated by Mike D’Antoni just yesterday. That’s not surprising at all but now a couple names have leaked out. According to ESPN, Kevin Ollie and John Calipari are their top to choices:
To that end, sources say, Lakers officials intend to reach out to two of the biggest names in the college game — UConn’s Kevin Ollie and Kentucky’s John Calipari — to at least gauge their interest in the job.
We have already heard from John Calipari to say that he isn’t interested in the job but most people won’t believe him until someone else has a press conference. The more interesting choice to me is Kevin Ollie. He need to strike will the iron is hot. It won’t be a yearly occurrence when the Lakers job is open and your star is this bright.
