BSO’s Final 2014 NBA Mock Draft

With the 11th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Denver Nuggets select:

11. Gary Harris, Guard (Michigan St.)

Harris is a great pick for the Nuggets at this point in the draft. The sophomore guard can score inside and out while also relieving Ty Lawson of ball handling duties at times. Harris’ offensive polish will offer immediate help to a Nuggets team whose roster is in a bit of a flux.

With the 12th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select:

12. Nik Stauskas, Guard (Michigan)

With Jameer Nelson’s future in Orlando likely coming to an end soon, the Magic can grab their point guard of the future by taking the Wolverine guard. Stauskas is a do-it-all player with a killer outside shot, allowing Victor Oladipo, Nikola Vucevic and the previously drafted Julius Randle to work without having to worry about many double-teams.

With the 13th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select:

rsz_james-young3

13. James Young, Guard (Kentucky)

The T’Wolves enter this draft in quite a state of chaos thanks to the Kevin Love semi-trade demand. The team could very well be picking much earlier in this draft if they ship out the All-Star, but at the tale end of the lottery they take a bonafide scorer who can make an immediate impact off the bench.

With the 14th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select:

14. Rodney Hood, Forward (Duke)

Hood was a scoring machine in his final season at Duke. The small forward may not be as heralded as former teammate Parker, but he can bring a scoring punch off the bench immediately for the Suns. With Phoenix moving forward with Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic, a three that can stretch the court like Hood is a great fit out in the desert.

With the 15th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select:

15. Elfrid Payton, Guard (Louisiana Lafayette)

Payton is a bit of an enigma in the draft. After impressing in workouts with a shot that most teams didn’t know he had, the 6-4 guard has been mentioned as high as 7 to the Lakers or as low as the tail end of the first round. He is a great fit for a Hawks team loaded with shooters in need of a guard that can make a variety of passes.
