BSO’s Final 2014 NBA Mock Draft

With the 16th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select:

rsz_jusuf-nurkic1

16. Jusuf Nurkic, Center (Bosnia)

Speaking of enigmas, the 6’10 Nurkic is quite the unknown in the draft. His projections are all over the place from lottery to second round depending on who you listen to. The Bulls are in a position where they can wait for a draft pick to develop overseas, and taking Nurkic here could yield great rewards in a few years.

With the 17th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select:

17. Dario Saric, Forward (Croatia)

When word broke that Saric would be signing a three-year deal in Turkey, thus delaying his NBA debut at least two years, the story immediately seemed like the Croatian big man was trying to control where he would be drafted. Previous reports had Saric wanting to only play in Los Angeles or Boston, and with his contract scaring off potential suitors, Saric gets his wish.

With the 18th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select:

18. Clint Capela, Forward (Switzerland)

For the third straight pick, an international player comes off the board as the Suns take the 6’11 Swiss big man. Despite the fact that his game is still a bit raw, Capela has an impressive skill set that would fit in perfectly with the run-and-gun Suns offense. Being loaded with assets affords Phoenix the ability to be patient with this pick.

With the 19th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select:

19. T.J. Warren, Forward (North Carolina St.)

Chicago is a defensive-minded team in need of some quick scoring. Warren can definitely provide the Bulls that in some minutes off of the bench. The forwards ability to score in isolation situations allows the Bulls to put up line-ups loaded with defenders for stretches at a time without having to worry about putting points on the board.

With the 20th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors select:

rsz_ap450057461760

20. Tyler Ennis, Guard (Syracuse)

Talk about things breaking perfectly for the fast-risiing Raptors. Toronto is able to nab Canada’s very own Ennis, who could take the reigns from the possibly-departing Kyle Lowry. With young guns DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross in the fold, the Raps could have their 1-3 positions set for the next 10 years with this pick.
