After more than three years away from the game of football, Chad Johnson made his debut on the gridiron for the Montreal Alouettes. Unfortunately for Johnson, the team did lose to the Calgary Stampeders 29-8. Chad managed to haul in two catches for 20 yards.
“I’ve got a long way to go, man,” Johnson said after his debut, via TSN.ca. “With this being my first time experiencing a real live game with the bullets flying, the level of competition is really not that far off from the NFL and the speed of the game is equivalent.”
This isn’t a bad day for Johnson, who hasn’t had any on-field experience in awhile, and playing for the struggling Alouettes doesn’t help either. Troy Smith is the quarterback, and the former Heisman winner finished just 18-41 for 154 yards and an interception. Hopefully, the Alouettes can get it together as the season progresses.
