Atlants Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, did not mince words when he was asked who he thought was the best at his position.
“I feel like I am the best receiver in the league,” Jones recently told Pete Prisco of CBS Sports. “Every receiver should feel that he’s the best. It’s all about confidence. You should never put another man in front of you and say he’s better than you.” – Chris Wesseling, NFL.com
Though his production may be compromised by playing alongside other talented receivers like Roddy White, Jones’ assessment of status is totally off-base. Statistically, he’s not even in the Calvin Johnson conversation. Ultimately, he has the potential to be the best, but like the urban philosopher Shawn Carter said, “Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t.”
