Report: Lakers Calling Bron & Melo at 12:01AM July 1st About Team Up

New York Knicks v Miami Heat - Game Five

LeBron would be the King of LA if he decided to come to the Lakers. With Kobe retiring at some point, he would be the undisputed ruler. I think there is a very low percentage of this happening, but stranger things have taken place.

Here is the Lakers masterplan according to InsideSoCal.com

The Lakers’ first order of business once free agency begins on June 30 at 9:01 p.m. Pacific time remains pretty clear.

They will try to set up meetings with both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony and provide a pitch for them to sign with the Lakers, according to a person familiar with the Lakers’ free agency plans.

They are aware that James may just re-sign with the Miami Heat for less money so the team has greater flexibility to upgrade its roster after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2014 NBA Finals. The Lakers are also aware Anthony may just join James in Miami. Nonetheless, the Lakers’ interest in James is substantially higher than Anthony.

It is highly unlikely to happen, but it is worth a shot.  Lakers can free up the money, but unless they have a really good pitch or LaLa and Savannah hatch a masterplan, don’t count on it.
