Former UNC basketball star Rashard McCants shook up Carolina and the collegiate sports world with his comments about making the Dean’s list despite not attending classes in school.
Now, the UNC athletic community is rushing to its defense via Twitter calling McCants crazy and disputing his claims of academic cheating.
That boy is certified bonkers.

Crazy that someone so disreputable would try to tarnish something so special. — John Henson (@_John_Henson_) June 6, 2014
fraudulent.

It’s important to note, that McCants is not the first person to talk about academic tampering at UNC. These comments from the Carolina community are not surprising, but that doesn’t make what McCants said untrue. He broke the code and turned his back on the university so they’re turning their backs on him. None the less, it took McCants some level of courage to speak out.
