The Los Angeles Lakers and GM Mitch Kupchak took the first step in securing the meeting they wanted.
After spending the last few days hearing reports that LeBron James would not meet with the franchise, David Aldridge is reporting that Rich Paul, the agent for LeBron, did in fact meet with the Lakers on Friday.
Lakers did have their meeting in Cleveland today with LeBron James's agent, Rich Paul, per source familiar with the discussions.

It may not mean much at all, but the Lakers were able to present an initial proposal to the James camp.
