Two women have been busted for allegedly running a hidden meth lab in the basement of a rural Illinois church.
Judith Hemken, 53, and Tiffany Burton, 26, are accused of cooking up the drug in the basement of the Waveland Hillsboro Presbyterian Church in Montgomery County.
They were reportedly caught by a parishioner, who called in to check on the building at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after noticing suspicious activity. He found one of the women outside and the other in the crypt with what appeared to be the components of the lab, according to published reports.
The duo, who are not believed to be members of the church, fled the scene and are thought to have been using the venue solely for their drug business, authorities said.
