We will have to wait for the guaranteed numbers first, but Andy Dalton finally has a new deal. Adam Schefter is reporting that Dalton and the Bengals have agreed to a new six-year, $115 million extension.
From me and Adam Caplan:
Cincinnati and Bengals QB Andy Dalton reached agreement on a 6-year, $115 million contract, per two sources.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 4, 2014
Dalton has reportedly look amazing in camp so far this preseason, and the deal speak to the Bengals unwavering commitment to the former second round pick.
Dalton was always confident he’d get a new contract and firmly believes he’s a true franchise quarterback. The Bengals have won 10 or more games twice since Dalton became the full-time starter, but the majority of his criticism stems from his inability to get his team over the hump in the playoffs.
He’s 30-18 as a starter (and 0-3 in the postseason).
