The Arizona Cardinals are hurting on defense, but got a much-needed playmaker back on defense. The Cardinals announced that safety Tyrann Mathieu has been activated from the physically unable to perform list.
The second-year safety has been cleared to practice.

There is now some optimism that Mathieu will be ready to play by the Cardinals‘ season opener versus the Chargers. Cardinals brass had been hoping for week 5.
