The past two weeks have been totally forgettable for the NFL and its image. Following release of the Ray Rice footage and the arrest of Adrian Peterson for child abuse, now comes news of even more off-the-field violence from an NFL player.
According to AZ Central, Arizona Cardinals running back Johnathan Dwyer has been arrested by Arizona police on suspicion of aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911.
Phoenix police arrested an Arizona Cardinals player on assault allegations, a police spokesman confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrested Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer, 25, on suspicion of aggravated assault, according to a police spokesman.
CBS Evening News confirmed the arrest and charges against Dwyer that were apparently brought on by a complaint from his wife.

Police have yet to release details on the incident, so it is unknown when the alleged offense took place.
While it’s great that the issue is finally being brought to the forefront with all of the national attention these cases have been getting, it’s sad that there are so many instances of this, especially in such a short time span.
