As far as I know, most NBA players prefer their shorts to be full length. The last player to openly want to wear short shorts I can remember was Dennis Rodman.
However it appears we have a new-age player who wants to bring back the 80s. Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Douglas-Roberts took to twitter to announce he’d chosen his jersey number, as well as some alterations to his past uniforms:

We won’t know just how serious Douglas-Roberts is until the NBA season kicks off (thats if he makes the team) however, hopefully the NBA has some sort of 5 finger rule to implement.
