Sooners RB Joe Mixon is serving a suspension due to an incident with he assaulted a woman after a night of celebrating his birthday in Norman. However, that doesn’t seem to be stopping Mixon from participating in some team activities. Mixon attended the Sooners RAH Rally last night to help get the team hyped up for their game against Tennessee this weekend.
The Sooners responded to Mixon’s attendance by saying it was a “voluntary student activity.”

You decide whether Oklahoma violated their punishment to Mixon by allowing him to attend the pep rally. It would seem that’s the case, but that depends on your definition of whether this was a student activity or team activity.
