Earlier today Cardinals RB Jonathan Dwyer was arrested for domestic violence in a case involving a woman and a young child. Details have been unfolding gradually, but it is alleged that Dwyer threw his wife’s phone off the balcony when she attempted to call the police for assistance. The NFL has been plagued by domestic violence incidences all last week, and now this week begins with Dwyer’s arrest.
Last week while the Ray Rice domestic violence story was unfolding due to the release of the elevator video, Dwyer responded to tweet from a user asking why NFL players were being alarmingly quiet about how they felt about what they saw on the video. His response simply was that he couldn’t judge Ray Rice. Now we know why. It’s hard to judge someone when your life is reflecting the same situation as theirs.
The Cardinals immediately deactivated Dwyer upon learning about the arrest.
