The Black Mamba is taking the Swaggy P under his wing and the the young shooter was mighty nervous.
“I was a little nervous at first,” Young said Monday at the Lakers’ media day. “I didn’t know what he was going to talk about. But having one-on-one time with Kobe is crazy. I got comfortable and just learned a lot from him. He was telling me and showing me on tape how defenses will guard us,” Young said. “He was telling me about how he studies film. It was a good session.”
The Lakers can only wish-upon-a-star that Nick Young will pick up at least an eighth of the knowledge Kobe is dropping on the trigger happy shooter. Young shot 43.5% from the field last season and 38.6% from the three. Young led the Lakers in scoring last season and got a nice little contract this off season but Lakers were horrid and Kobe isn’t settling for that. Kobe will try and push Young to become a better player. We all know the reputation of Kobe being a little bit of a hard hand to please, to put it nicely. You can sure bet Kobe is going to have his hands full this season with a guy like Young, who can be a streaky hit-or-miss player.
